The spirit of togetherness, collaboration, and open communication became the central theme of the Achievement Motivation Training (AMT) for the Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB), Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS), held on 24–25 July 2026 at The Wujil Resort & Conventions, Ungaran. The two-day program brought together faculty members and Academic Support Staff to strengthen institutional cohesion and reinforce a shared commitment to the faculty’s continued development. The event commenced with an opening report delivered by the Vice Dean for Non-Academic Affairs, Sutaryo, S.E., M.Si., Ph.D., Ak., CA., CRA., CRP., ACPA., who noted that 130 faculty members and Academic Support Staff participated in this year’s program.

“A total of 130 faculty members and Academic Support Staff are participating in this year’s AMT. This program serves as a platform to strengthen the sense of togetherness across the FEB UNS community by providing equal opportunities for both faculty members and Academic Support Staff to take part,” he explained.

Sutaryo further stated that the AMT was organized in accordance with the university’s policy regulating annual off-campus activities for each faculty. The program featured a dialogue session between the Dean Office, faculty members, and Academic Support Staff, followed by an appreciation ceremony honoring retired employees. The first day concluded with an evening gathering and the accountability report of the Faculty of Economics and Business Family Welfare Association (KKFE), while the second day featured a series of team-building fun games.

Officially opening the event, Dean of FEB UNS, Prof. Bhimo Rizky Samudro, S.E., M.Si., Ph.D., emphasized that a faculty’s success is determined not only by its academic achievements but also by strong collaboration, effective communication, and a shared sense of ownership among its academic community. He noted that the current leadership is committed to continuing the strong foundation established by previous administrations by sustaining and further developing existing initiatives.

Prof. Bhimo also highlighted the importance of maintaining open communication between the faculty leadership, faculty members, and Academic Support Staff. He encouraged all members of the FEB UNS academic community to share their aspirations, ideas, and suggestions directly with the leadership so that challenges could be addressed through dialogue and mutual cooperation.

“The Dean Office is always open. We want to cultivate a culture of open communication so that every suggestion becomes part of our collective effort to advance FEB UNS,” he remarked.

During the event, Vice Dean for Academic Affairs and Research, Prof. Tri Mulyaningsih, S.E., M.Si., Ph.D., presented updates on the faculty’s strategic initiatives, particularly its progress toward AACSB (Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business) international accreditation. She announced that FEB UNS had successfully passed both the Business Unit Application (BUA) and Eligibility Application stages without requiring remediation, reflecting the faculty’s readiness to meet international accreditation standards.

Prof. Tri explained that the next phase involves guidance from an AACSB mentor, who will assist the faculty in preparing its Self-Evaluation Report (SER) over the next three years. She emphasized that the accreditation journey extends beyond obtaining international recognition, serving instead as an opportunity to strengthen a culture of continuous improvement in governance, learning quality, research, and academic services.

Also addressing the participants, Vice Rector for Planning, Cooperation, Internationalization, and Information, Prof. Irwan Trinugroho, S.E., M.Sc., Ph.D., QCRO., reaffirmed the university’s full support for FEB UNS’s institutional development. He explained that UNS continues to enhance its facilities and infrastructure, including plans to construct a new FEB UNS building as part of the university’s future campus development.

In the near term, the faculty will also benefit from the renovation of the Student Activity Unit building, improvements to the drainage system, expanded sports facilities, and the reorganization of parking areas. Prof. Irwan also expressed his appreciation for FEB UNS’s achievements in the AACSB accreditation process. He noted that pursuing international accreditation is a long-term endeavor requiring the commitment of the entire academic community. With strong collaboration, he expressed confidence that FEB UNS would achieve international standards while expanding partnerships with higher education institutions around the world.

In addition, he encouraged more early-career faculty members to pursue doctoral studies abroad as part of the university’s internationalization strategy. He also highlighted the ongoing digital transformation of university services to improve efficiency, transparency, and accountability in higher education governance.

Through the Achievement Motivation Training 2026, the FEB UNS community reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening a culture of collaboration, openness, and mutual support as the foundation for enhancing educational quality, institutional governance, and the faculty’s aspiration to become an internationally reputable institution.

The program also supports the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 4 (Quality Education) through strengthening the quality of higher education, SDG 9 (Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure) through infrastructure development and digital transformation, and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals) through enhanced collaboration and institutional partnerships.
