Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB), Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) welcomed a collaboration visit from Dr. Xiaoxiang Zhang, a Reader of Finance and Corporate Governance and Director of Recruitment and Admissions for the University of Sussex Business School, Friday 13 October 2023 in First Assembly Room, Djarwanto Building PS FEB UNS.

The visit was welcomed by Dr. Dwi Prasetyani, S.E., M.Si., Vice Dean of Academic, Research, and Student Affairs, Putra Pamungkas, S.E., M.Rech., Ph.D., Head of Digital Business Undergraduate Study Program, Rino Ardhian Nugroho, S.Sos., M.T.I., Ph.D., Head of UPT International Cooperation and Services, IO Coordinator, and a number of FEB UNS Lecturers.

In his introduction, Rino Ph.D., said that the objective of Dr. Xiaoxiang Zhang’s visit is to introduce several programs at Sussex University as an initial form of Joint degree cooperation between the two universities. Additionally, programs available at Sussex University, which can be accessed by young academicians from FEB UNS, are also discussed.

At the beginning of his presentation, Dr. Xiaoxiang Zhang said that the vision of Sussex University Business School is to be a leading business school that collaborates across disciplines to shape global issues in business, management and society, making an impact on policy, practice and people.

“This visit is the first step for the two universities to get to know each other. Our aim from Sussex University Business School is to encourage international collaboration including a staff mobility program, student mobility program, and high-quality teaching and staff exchange. We are ready to welcome the best students from Indonesia,” he explained.

Furthermore, he explained that the visit this time will include an introduction from Sussex University Business School, discussions at the program level, as well as collaboration and cooperation opportunities available.

Sussex University Business School is one of the young universities in the UK that was established in the 1960s. In 2023, Sussex University Business School managed to be the Top 15 Business and Economics global school ranking for the UK region based on THE World University Rankings 2023.
