25 students and alumni of the Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) at Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) participated in the Human Resources (HR) Competency Certification Assessment held at the Djarwanto Building, FEB UNS, on Saturday, September 30, 2023.

This activity was organized in collaboration with FEB UNS, the Human Capital Management Indonesia Certification Institute (HCMI), the Human Capital Indonesia Forum (FHCI), and the FEB UNS Alumni Family (KAFEB).

The certification aims to provide assurance and guarantee of a staff’s credibility in an organization, whether in the private sector, government, or state-owned enterprises.

One of the Steering Committee members, Dila Maghrifani, S.E., B.Sc., M.Sc., who is also a lecturer at FEB UNS, explained that this HRM certification is carried out in two stages. The first stage was conducted virtually on September 23, 2023. All participants who passed the administrative level could participate in this online activity.

“In this HR competency certification activity, those who can participate are the final-year students who are preparing for their thesis, those who are in their 7th semester, or alumni who have just graduated a maximum of 2 years ago. The aim is for students or alumni to have more competitive advantage compared to other students because they already have HR competency certification,” she explained.

Furthermore, participants were given material related to HRM. In this activity, participants took a pre-test and post-test to filter out the top 25. Next, the top 25 participants will participate in the next assessment on September 30, 2023. Each participant was assessed for approximately 1.5 to 2 hours by LSP FHCI HCMI.

“Participants who successfully pass the assessment stage will receive HR competency certification. The cost for activities like this usually ranges around 2 million rupiah but in this activity, for FEB students and graduates, it’s free,” she said.

Responding to the implementation of HR Competency Certification, Dila who has expertise in marketing management, said that this activity is very positive. Hopefully, in the future, there will be other certifications that will directly benefit FEB students and alumni. In addition to graduating with very good grades, they are also equipped with competency certifications.
