P4M FEB UNS Promotes Scientific Publication through Continuous Article Writing Mentoring
The Center for Research and Community Service Development (P4M), Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB), Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS), organized a Workshop on Article Writing Training and Mentoring for Publication in Reputable International Journals under the theme Strategies for Writing Big Data Analysis Articles. The program was conducted on 16 and 20 July 2026 through a hybrid format, combining in-person sessions at the Fiscal Corner, Soeharto TS Building 1, FEB UNS, with virtual sessions via Zoom Meeting. The workshop featured Prof. Dr. Nazamuddin, S.E., M.A., from the Faculty of Economics and Business, Syiah Kuala University, as the keynote speaker for the Economics discipline.
In his opening remarks, Dr. Wahyu Widarjo, S.E., M.Si., Head of P4M, explained that the program reflects FEB UNS’s ongoing commitment to improving both the quality and quantity of scientific publications in reputable international journals. He noted that the increasing demands of international scholarly publishing require initiatives that go beyond conventional training by providing intensive mentoring until participants’ manuscripts are ready for submission.
Dr. Wahyu emphasized that the program adopts a different approach from typical academic writing workshops. Rather than offering a single lecture-based session, the workshop was designed as a sustained mentoring program in which participants receive continuous feedback, manuscript reviews, and direct guidance throughout the article development process.
He further explained that this mentoring model was first introduced the previous year and will continue to be expanded as part of P4M’s commitment to strengthening the research culture within FEB UNS. By drawing on the expertise of experienced facilitators and mentors, the program aims to improve participants’ opportunities to publish their work in reputable international journals.
Representing the faculty leadership, Dr. Wahyu expressed his appreciation to the invited speaker and all participants for their active engagement in the workshop. He expressed hope that the program would strengthen the academic capacity of lecturers while increasing the number of high-quality scientific publications produced by the academic community of FEB UNS.
This initiative supports the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 4 (Quality Education) by enhancing academic capacity and research quality, and SDG 9 (Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure) by encouraging research and scientific publications that contribute to innovation and the advancement of knowledge.
