In Total 24 Ormawa FEB Management Participated in Preparation Training for Logistics and Export-Import Certification and Logistics Management Training
Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB UNS) in collaboration with the Indonesian Logistics and Forwarders Association (ALFI) held a Preparation Training for the upcoming Logistics and Export-Import Certification and Logistics Management Training, Wednesday-Thursday, 2-3 August 2023 in Room 2022 Djarwanto PS FEB UNS Building.
The activity, which was attended by 24 students who actively participated in the FEB UNS Student Affairs Organization, was opened directly by Dr. Dwi Prastyani, SE, M.Sc., Plt. for the Vice Dean of Academic, Research, and Student Affairs FEB UNS.
In her welcoming remark, Dr. Dwi representing the institution expressed her gratitude to the invited speakers from ALFI and hoped that the next two days would be able to provide a lot of useful knowledge, especially to students.
Meanwhile, to the participating students, Dr. Dwi revealed the importance of having a certificate of competency. “It is a great opportunity for you to be here, we hope that you can make the most of this occasion, once again this is for yourself in the future. Certification is important, when you have certification for certain competencies then it will be a good portfolio and will definitely attract those who will open vacancies. Whatever the profession, you must have a certification of competency,” she motivates the students.
Furthermore, it is said that FEB UNS is going to be a faculty with excellent accreditation. To be an excellent institution means that it goes beyond others, thus, we no longer only achieve national-level accomplishment, but the international-level instead.
Meanwhile, Teguh Arif Handoko, Chairman of ALFI Central Java and DIY Region, in his directive expressed his hope that FEB students after this training could gain knowledge and deliver particular value to logistics companies, import and export companies. This means that, when students graduate and enter a position in a company, they are ready.
“Later when students join an internship program at a logistics company, or at an exporter, or at an importer, they are ready. You shall not be entering an internship with zero preparation. If you have zero preparation, we who are in the logistics industry must also provide lessons from scratch. But if you have a minimum level of preparation or knowledge, at least we only need to fill you in at 60-70%. Then, you just need to implement it in the field,” he explained.
The two-day activity was led by 3 trainers from ALFI. Some of the materials presented include Packaging and Cargo Consolidation, Customs and International Freight Transport, Warehouse Management, IT in Logistics, and other materials that certainly provide insight into knowledge in the field of logistics for participants.
