FEB UNS Faculty Members Participate in Training on Developing Case-Based and Project-Based Learning Modules
The Project-Based Learning (PBL) Laboratory of the Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB), Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS), organized a Training on Developing Case-Based and Project-Based Learning Modules on Thursday, 26 June 2025, at the PBL Laboratory of FEB UNS. The event, attended by 20 faculty members of FEB, featured Prof. Nurul Indarti, Sivilokonom., Cand.Merc., Ph.D., as the main speaker.

This one-day training covered an introduction to Case-Based and Project-Based Learning, including Designing and Developing Case Studies and Creating Case-Based and Project-Based Learning Modules. Other topics presented included Implementing Case-Based Learning in the Classroom, Adapting Case-Based Learning across Disciplines, and Challenges and Solutions in Case-Based and Project-Based Learning.
In her remarks, Prof. Tri Mulyaningsih, S.E., M.Si., Ph.D., Vice Dean for Academic and Research Affairs FEB UNS, expressed her wishes, hoping for the session will equip faculty members with teaching techniques and strategies to improve the quality of learning at FEB.
“This activity is the starting point for a continuous program. Alhamdulillah, in this training, our lecturers are showing great enthusiasm to gain insights into what case-based and project-based learning truly entails. Moving forward, whenever possible, for the courses we teach, we can develop them further. If several lecturers are teaching the same course, they can design the cases or projects collaboratively, so it does not stop merely at the concept,” she explained.
Prof. Tri also expressed her hope that FEB will have its own case-based and project-based learning modules. With the new perspectives shared by Prof. Nurul, it is expected that teaching approaches at FEB will become more diverse, supporting the achievement of students’ Learning Outcomes (CPL). Thus, upon graduation, students will be ready to pursue careers aligned with each course’s objectives.
Speaking to feb.uns.ac.id, the Head of the Project-Based Learning Laboratory, Siti Khoiriyah, S.E., M.Si., conveyed that participants in this program gained comprehensive benefits in developing teaching materials through direct assistance from a highly competent expert. The learning modules developed can be implemented to support in-class learning activity.
This training is expected to make a significant contribution to enhance teaching and learning quality at FEB UNS by equipping faculty members with the tools and skills to develop case-based and project-based learning modules, thereby creating more practical and relevant learning experiences for students. The Case-Based and Project-Based Learning Modules Development training is in line with FEB UNS’s commitment to supporting the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly in providing quality education (SDG 4), by strengthening the capacity of lecturers in designing innovative, applicable, and relevant learning for the real world.
