FEB UNS Welcomes a Visit from Al Azhar 15 Islamic Senior High School Semarang
Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB), Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta welcomed a visit from Al Azhar 15 Islamic Senior High School Semarang on Tuesday, 30 September 2025. The event took place at the Suhardi Building Hall, FEB UNS. The visiting group consisted of 52 students and 6 accompanying teachers and was received by the Vice Dean for Academic and Research Affairs, Prof. Tri Mulyaningsih, S.E., M.Si., Ph.D., along with the Heads of Undergraduate Study Programs at FEB UNS.
In her remarks, Prof. Tri expressed her appreciation for the visit and emphasized the importance of introducing university life to high school students early on as preparation for their future educational paths. She also highlighted FEB UNS’s position as one of the leading faculties offering internationally recognized education. This is reflected in the achievement of international accreditation from AQAS, in addition to national accreditation from LAMEMBA, which has granted the Accounting, Management, and Development Economics Study Programs the “Excellent” rating, while the Digital Business Study Program received “Excellent” status—an impressive accomplishment considering the program was established only three years ago.
Prof. Tri further explained that the Digital Business Study Program is among the most competitive at UNS, ranking second among programs in the social sciences and humanities cluster. Interest among high school students to enroll at UNS is also very high, with the number of applicants placing UNS in the second position nationwide. At the international level, FEB UNS maintains a strong position. In global rankings, the fields of Economics and Accounting are positioned in the 300s, while Business and Management are ranked in the 600s globally.
“You don’t need to go abroad to get a quality education because FEB UNS is already competitive at the global level,” stated Prof. Tri.
She also introduced FEB UNS’s four regular undergraduate study programs, the Development Economics, Accounting, Management, and Digital Business study program, along with international classes offered in Accounting, Management, and Development Economics. These international programs were presented to students through a special video screening during the visit.
Representing the school, Ainun Jariyati, S.Pd., Gr., Vice Principal for Student Affairs, explained the purpose of the visit. The event continued with presentations from the Heads of Undergraduate Study Programs and an interactive discussion and Q&A session with the students.
To make the session more engaging, students participated in a quiz using the Kahoot! platform, which generated high enthusiasm. Through this educational game, students were able to test their knowledge and gain deeper insights into FEB UNS in a fun way. Those who achieved the highest scores received prizes as a token of appreciation for their active participation and enthusiasm.
This visit not only strengthened the partnership between educational institutions but also provided students with a closer look at academic life in higher education, particularly at FEB UNS.
The activity aligns with UNS’s commitment to supporting the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly Goal 4 (Quality Education), by expanding educational access and improving quality for younger generations.
