Financial Management Research Group, Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB), Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS), organized a Community Service program titled “Strategies for Strengthening the Inclusive Economy of Bok Bolong Splash Batik MSMEs Managed by Persons with Disabilities: Digital Marketing and Financial Digitalization” on Tuesday, July 14, 2026, at the Pendopo of Jombor Village, Sukoharjo Municipality. The program was attended by persons with disabilities affiliated with the Sheltered Workshop Peduli (SWP) Wijaya Mulya Batik Ciprat Bok Bolong. The event was also attended by the Chair of SWP, the workshop management team, and the Head of Jombor Village, Sukoharjo Municipality, demonstrating their support for initiatives aimed at strengthening the capacity of disability-inclusive micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs).

Through this program, participants received training in digital financial recordkeeping using the BukuWarung application, digital marketing strategies, and hands-on sewing workshops to develop value-added products made from splash batik fabric. These activities were designed to encourage more productive and sustainable business development.

The training on digital financial management using the BukuWarung application and digital marketing was delivered by Ria Esana, S.AB., MBA., who provided practical guidance on the importance of organized financial management through digital technology and effective marketing strategies to expand product reach. Meanwhile, the hands-on sewing session was facilitated by an external trainer who guided participants in producing derivative products from splash batik. Through these activities, participants not only gained knowledge of digital financial management and marketing but also acquired practical experience in developing value-added splash batik products. The program is expected to enhance product competitiveness while creating broader business opportunities for the participants.

This Community Service initiative reflects the commitment of the Financial Management Research Group at FEB UNS to advancing inclusive economic development by strengthening the capacity of MSMEs managed by persons with disabilities. The assistance provided is expected to encourage more systematic business management, improve adaptation to digital technologies, and contribute to greater economic independence within the community.

The program also supports the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth) by strengthening MSME capacity, SDG 10 (Reduced Inequalities) through the empowerment of persons with disabilities, and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals) by promoting collaboration among higher education institutions, local government, and community organizations.
