
FEB UNS Welcomes Visit from MAN 2 Cilacap
Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB), Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS), welcomed a visit from Madrasah Aliyah Negeri (MAN) 2 Cilacap on Friday, 13 December 2024. The event took place at the Suhardi Hall, FEB UNS. The visiting delegation, consisting of teachers and students from MAN 2 Cilacap, was led by Margiyati, S.Pd., M.Pd., Vice Principal for Student Affairs. The group was welcomed by Vice Dean for Student and Alumni Affairs, Tastaftiyan Risfandy, PhD., the Head of the Management Study Program, Dr. Sinto Sunaryo, S.E., M.Si., SHRM.CP., and a representative of the Head of the Development Economics Study Program, Andri Prasetyo, S.E., M.E., lecturer of the Development Economics Study Program.
In his welcoming remarks, Tastaftiyan extended his appreciation to the teachers and students of MAN 2 Cilacap. “Thank you for your visit. We are always open to have any discussion and collaboration. Universities today are expected to be inclusive, not exclusive. We welcome various forms of collaboration, such as Community Engagement, the “Kampus Mengajar” program, joint research, and other initiatives carried out both at schools and external institutions. God willing, this visit and potential collaborations will also be meaningful for us,” he remarked.
Tastaftiyan also encouraged students not to be overly concerned when choosing a Study Program at FEB UNS. He emphasized that all Study Programs within the faculty are closely linked to broader economic fields and thus offer diverse career prospects. He further advised the students to be diligent in their academic pursuits while also actively participating in student organizations to support personal development. “To be successful, in-class learning alone is not enough. It is also essential to engage in student organizations at the faculty or university level,” he added.
The visit also included an introduction to the Study Programs at FEB UNS. Representatives from the respective Study Programs provided brief overviews.
Representing MAN 2 Cilacap, Margiyati, S.Pd., M.Pd., stated that the visit was attended by 120 students and 6 accompanying teachers. She expressed her hope that the visit would offer valuable insights into the Study Programs, the learning process at FEB UNS, and future career opportunities for its graduates. During the Study Program presentation session, the Head of the Management Study Program and representative from the Development Economics Study Program shared the profiles of each program, followed by an interactive discussion with the visiting students.
