FEB UNS Welcomed a Visit from UNIMAS, Establishes Partnership

The Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB), Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) welcomed a visit from the Faculty of Economics and Business (FEP), Universiti Malaysia Sarawak, on Thursday, August 22, 2024, in Meeting Room 1, Soeharno TS Building. The entourage consisted of the Dean, Prof. Dr. Rossazana Ab Rahim, Deputy Dean (Vice Dean), Prof. Dr. Evan Lau Poh Hock, Dr. Nur Zaimah Ubaidillah, and Dr. Janifer Liliki, as well as Mrs. Kartika Barmawi, staff.

Tastaftiyan Risfandy, S.E., M.Sc., Ph.D., Vice Dean for Planning, Partnership, Business, and Information at FEB UNS, welcomed the delegation from UNIMAS. In his remark, he also introduced the leaders who attended the session, including the Vice-Dean for Human Resources, Finance, and Logistics, Dr. Djuminah, Head of the Development Economics Study Program (EP), Bhimo Rizky Samudro, Ph.D., as well as several lecturers from the Accounting and Development Economics Study Program.

Furthermore, he explained that FEB UNS currently has 8 (eight) Study Programs consisting of 4 (four) Undergraduate Programs, namely the Undergraduate Program in Accounting, the Undergraduate Program in Management, the Undergraduate Program in Development Economics, and the newly established Undergraduate Program in Digital Business.

In addition, FEB UNS has 3 Master Programs, namely the Master of Accounting (MAKSI) Program, the Master of Management (MM) Program, and the Master of Economics and Development Studies (MESP) Program, as well as one Doctoral Study Program, namely PDIE.

Academic activities at FEB UNS were conducted in five buildings, administrative activities were centered at Soeharno TS Building, teaching and learning activities at Djarwanto PS Building, seminars at Suhardi Building, Postgraduate Study Program at Bachtiar Effendi Building, and Soedarah Soepono Building, which had several functions such as Laboratory centers, classes, and lecturer rooms.

Meanwhile, the Dean of FEB UNIMAS, Prof. Dr. Rossazana Ab Rahim, expressed her gratitude for the welcoming remarks. She further states that the purpose of this visit is to strengthen and enhance strategic cooperation that emphasizes the importance of collaboration at the international level.

Additionally, the established collaboration will be carried out in the fields of academics, research, publications, as well as involvement in developing collaborative programs for the benefit of both parties. “FEB UNS and UNIMAS are like brothers. If there are UNS lecturers who have not obtained a doctoral degree, they can choose UNIMAS. UNIMAS is a comprehensive university, different from a research university or a teaching university. I am very impressed with how the Vice Dean of FEB manages relations with the alumni,” she said.

Prof. Rossazana also discussed online or hybrid supervision programs, which can be carried out between the two universities systematically. She also mentioned that UNIMAS has a student exchange program, between one semester and one year. “The short-term mobility program can last between 6-7 days to 2 weeks. Through this program, students can be involved in international activities, student exchange, study tours, and community projects,” she further explained.

After the welcome remarks from FEB UNS and UNIMAS, the agenda continued with discussions related to the student exchange program for FEB UNS International Class, MoA development and drafting, and research collaboration.

After the visit to FEB UNS, the UNIMAS group was accompanied by the FEB leadership ranks to the Rectorate office for another welcoming ceremony and signing of an MOU with the Rector of UNS, Prof. Dr. Hartono, dr., M.Si., and also the Vice-Rector for Planning, Partnership, Internationalization, and Information Affairs, Prof. Irwan Trinugroho, S.E., M.Sc., Ph.D.
