FEB UNS Visits Three Universities in Thailand, Discusses Implementation of Academic Collaboration

Acting Vice-Dean of Academic, Research, and Student Affairs, Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB), Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS), Dr. Dwi Prasetyani, together with the Interim Head of the Master of Management Study Program, Retno Tanding Suryandari, Ph.D., and accompanied by Drs. Heru Wicaksono, MM., FEB UNS alumni who had served as Consul General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Songkla Thailand paid a visit to three universities in Thailand on November 21-24, 2023.

Visit to the Indonesian Consulate in Songkhla

In addition to the visits to universities in Thailand, the three also visited the Consulate of the Republic of Indonesia in Songkhla to report on the future partnership plan.

In the statement to feb.uns.ac.id in her office, the Acting Vice-Dean of Academic, Research, and Student Affairs delivered a detailed series of their itineraries in Thailand.

Discussion on a future partnership with Fatoni University Leaders

The visit aims to discuss the implementation of FEB UNS academic collaboration with the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration, Thaksin University, the Faculty of Liberal Arts and Social Science, Fatoni University, and the Faculty of Management Sciences, Prince Songkla University (PSU).

She stated that the initial review of the partnership agreement between UNS and the three universities in Thailand had been carried out on November 21, 2023.

The following day the representatives joined a workshop and discussion on the agreement between Fatoni University and UNS, including the signing of a partnership agreement by the Rector of Fatoni University, and continued with a visit to the Consulate General in Songkhla City.

Furthermore, she explained the scope of a partnership carried out in the memorandum includes faculty and administrative staff exchanges, student exchanges, exchange of academic directions and publications, carrying out joint research, colloquiums, lectures, and seminars, carrying out joint community services on an international scale by students as well as other activities mutually agreed upon by the two universities.

Signing of UNS Cooperation with Thaksin University

Furthermore, on November 23, 2023, a discussion was held with Thaksin University regarding the elements of the partnership agreement, establishing an action plan for cooperation within 5 years, as well as signing an agreement between Thaksin University and UNS.

The Interim Vice-Dean of Academic, Research, and Student Affairs, Head of MM., and Drs. Heru Wicaksono MM., also visited Prince of Songkhla University (PSU) to discuss a potential partnership between UNS and PSU. In addition, the group also met with the International Unit and the College of Management Science to continue discussions and explore potential partnerships in academic mobility programs.

On the last day of the visit, there was a revision and follow-up discussion with PSU to strengthen the cooperation agreement and send a final MOA to be signed by the President of Thaksin University.

“The collaboration we have with universities in Thailand aims to develop international-level human resources competency and strengthen FEB UNS collaboration with three universities in Thailand. They were very welcoming to us and there are many benefits we could reap from the visit. With this cooperation, it will certainly support the development of FEB in the international arena,” said Dr. Dwi Prasetyani concluding the exchange.
