FEB UNS Halalbihalal: Strengthening Harmony, Collaboration, and Togetherness
Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB), Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS), organized a Halalbihalal gathering in celebration of Eid al-Fitr 1447 Hijriah on Thursday, April 2, 2026, at the Suhardi Building Auditorium, FEB UNS. The event was attended by faculty members, academic support staff, student organizations, the Dharma Wanita Persatuan, and retired FEB faculty members, serving as an effort to tighten ties of silaturahmi and strengthen togetherness within the large FEB UNS family.
The Dean of FEB UNS, Prof. Bhimo Rizky Samudro, S.E., M.Si., Ph.D., in his opening remarks, extended his Happy Eid al-Fitr 1447 Hijriah greetings, Minal ‘aidin wal-faizin, alongside prayers that all acts of worship performed during the month of Ramadan be accepted by Allah SWT. Prof. Bhimo also expressed his respect to all the invited guests in attendance, spanning university executives, professors, faculty members, academic support staff, as well as representatives from student organizations and the Dharma Wanita Persatuan.
In a simple yet deeply meaningful atmosphere, he emphasized the importance of family values as reflected in the event’s theme: “Harmony in diversity, synergy in togetherness, and united in victory.” According to him, the essence of an institution lies not merely in physical developments or material achievements, but in the strength of its familial values.
He further reflected that family is the most valuable asset, rather than just capital fund. Therefore, he invited the entire academic community to maintain togetherness, build synergy, and avoid undermining one another. “In a large family, we do not compete to defeat one another, but rather build synergy in togetherness and unite in achieving common goals,” he expressed. The remarks concluded with an apology for any physical and emotional shortcomings on both a personal and institutional level.
Meanwhile, the Rector of UNS, Prof. Dr. Hartono, dr., M.Si., in his speech, expressed gratitude for the opportunity to gather in good health and extended Happy Eid al-Fitr greetings to the entire FEB UNS family. Prof. Hartono emphasized the importance of maintaining silaturahmi as taught in religion, which carries not only blessings for life but also a rational significance. According to him, the breaking of silaturahmi is often caused by resentment arising from prejudice, gossip, and slander.
Furthermore, he explained that negative emotions can trigger stress hormones such as adrenaline and cortisol, which in the long run impact health, including increasing blood pressure and causing vascular disorders. Therefore, mutual forgiveness and maintaining good relationships are essential from both a spiritual and health perspective.
The core event of the Halalbihalal featured a religious sermon (tausiyah) by Prof. Dr. H. Amir Junaidi, S.H., M.H.Adv., focusing on life reflection and preparation for the afterlife. In his lecture, he reminded the audience that life after death is eternal and vastly different from worldly life, noting that one day in the afterlife is likened to a thousand years. Prof. Junaidi explained that humans will not return to this world after entering the afterlife. Therefore, every individual must utilize their earthly life as an opportunity for self-improvement.
He also emphasized that there are two destinations in the afterlife: heaven as a place for those who believe and perform good deeds, and a lowly place for those consumed by sin. Furthermore, he asserted that the master key to achieving salvation is possessing a clean heart (qalbun salim). According to him, purity of heart can only be achieved through repentance, multiplying istighfar (seeking forgiveness), and performing worship with complete sincerity and faith.
“As long as our hearts remain unclean and filled with sins, we must continuously strive to purify them. Do not expect to enter heaven without improving yourself,” he expressed before the audience.
The Halalbihalal event took place in a warm and deeply familial atmosphere. Various door prizes were also prepared by the organizers to enliven the event. This momentum served as a space for mutual forgiveness and for tightening relationships within the FEB UNS extended family. This initiative supports the attainment of SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-Being), SDG 4 (Quality Education), and SDG 16 (Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions) through strengthening silaturahmi, values of togetherness, and creating a harmonious and inclusive academic environment.
