Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB), Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta, has established another international partnership with foreign institutions. On this occasion, FEB UNS virtually signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) with Universiti Teknologi MARA Johor (UiTMCJ) Malaysia Monday, September 12, 2022.

The signing of the MOA was virtually carried out by Prof. Djoko Suhardjanto, M.Com (Hons), Ph.D., Ak, as the Dean of FEB UNS and Assoc. Prof. Akmal Aini Othman, Vice-Chancellor of Academic Affairs of UiTMCJ. This MoA becomes a mandatory requirement for recipients of Grant Strategic Research Partnership (SRP), which aims to increase research achievement through various partnerships, both with the industrial sector and national and international institutions.

In her welcoming speech, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Akmal Aini Othman, representing the Rector of UiTM Johor, Prof. Dr. H. Ismail Ahmad, thanked UNS for its willingness to collaborate with UiTM. “We are very proud that an excellent university like UNS is willing to work with UiTM to achieve excellence and become even greater in the future. This MoA could create more opportunities for more strategic collaboration and research. It is our hope that the cooperation that will take place will yield beneficial results for both universities. We would like to thank you once again, especially Prof. Djoko as the Dean of FEB UNS and all Vice-Deans at FEB UNS,” she said.

Meanwhile, in his remarks, Prof. Djoko Suhardjanto stated that the signing of the partnership was an honor for FEB UNS to be able to cooperate with the Faculty of Accounting at UiTM. He further revealed that this partnership is in line with FEB UNS’ vision to become an internationally recognized Faculty of Economics and Business.

“This cooperation is a good step towards strengthening the international network and introducing graduates from both universities to become better known internationally. In this era of globalization and interdependence, a partnership is a must. The signing of this MoA represents cooperation that will lead to many research initiatives and other academic activities, thus, it can become a new synergy and add academic value for UNS and UiTM in the coming year,” explained Prof. Djoko.

Previously, UNS FEB had conducted numerous collaborations with UiTM academic members, including guest lecturer lectures, research collaborations, and student exchanges (student in-bound and out-bound).
