
Mesen Community Memorial Campus Donates Some Funds for Scholarships
The Alumni Association of the Faculty of Economics and Business (KAFEB), Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS), together with the Mesen Memorial Campus (MKK) FEB UNS from the 76-80 cohort, also contributed to the Artefac Watu Abadi FEB UNS Endowment Fund for Sustainable Education. Sonny Arifin, a representative of the MKK Community, handed over a number of funds for scholarships to representatives of the Dharma Bekti KAFEB Foundation who were present at the time, Ellytahatin Indah, at the Fiscal Corner Room FEB UNS, Monday, 29 July 2024. The presence of the MKK FEB UNS 76-80 cohort and representatives of the Dharma Bekti Foundation was accepted by the FEB UNS Leaders.
In his remarks, Sonny said that the funds were collected from all members of MKK, the 1976 to 1980 class. Sony also recounted that the MKK 76-80 Community was born in September 2011. At that time, only a few were incorporated, but now there are many more, all students who have studied at the Mesen campus are members of MKK.
Meanwhile, Dr. Dwi Prasetyani, S.E., M.Si., Vice Dean of Academic Research and Student Affairs, in her remarks said that the Dharma Bekti Foundation, initiated by KAFEB, has many benefits for FEB UNS. “The Dharma Bekti Foundation strongly supports our activities, student scholarships, Single-Tuition System (UKT), student activities, funding for students’ competition, and many other activities, basically to support the achievement of FEB’s key performance indicators for the better,” she said.
On this occasion, Dr. Dwi Prasetyani also conveyed various achievements of FEB. On a national scale, FEB is ranked 4th for the best Economics Faculty in Indonesia. Currently, with the seamless cooperation with alumni, the Faculty strives to improve FEB to get a better position and ranking and, hopefully, to be the number 1 university in Indonesia. On the international scale of the World Class Ranking (WUR), FEB UNS is ranked 301-350 for Accounting & Finance and also Economics & Econometrics.
FEB will also prepare for AACSB’s international accreditation. Hopefully, when achieved, it will facilitate the student to participate in an international exchange program at the top universities in the world. At the end of her speech, Dr. Dwi Prasetyani reiterated that the existence of KAFEB will always provide meaningful support in the implementation of the Tri Dharma of Higher Education in FEB. “KAFEB is very helpful for us, accelerating our institution’s performance, because our challenges are getting bigger, so we need support beyond our ability,” she said.
For example, the establishment of the Fiscal Corner at FEB UNS, a specific function as part of the partnership between FEB and the Ministry of Finance. Regular meetings and joint programs between alumni in the ministry and lecturers in FEB are initiated and gradually implemented. Collaboration with alumni also makes it easier to access research and community service activities abroad.
The Chairman of the Faculty Senate, Prof. Dr. Tulus Haryono, M.Ek., added that the effort to improve FEB UNS cannot be done individually but must be achieved through collaboration and partnership with alumni. After the handover ceremony for the scholarship funds by MKK 76-80, the representatives of MKK 76-80 took a group photo in front of “Artefac Watu Abadi FEB UNS,” a symbol of alumni’s continuous charity, adopting the concept of Endowment Funds.
