Final Round of the Sebelas Maret Business Case Competition (SMBCC) 2024 Welcomes 10 Teams
The Sebelas Maret Business Case Competition (SMBCC) 2024 serves as the opening event of the “Management Carnival,” organized by the Management Student Association of the Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB), Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS). The competition, themed “Sustaining Innovative Business in Technology Information on Digital Marketing,” brings together university students from across Indonesia to develop solutions to real-world business challenges.
As an annual event, SMBCC provides a platform for students to sharpen their analytical and critical thinking skills while crafting innovative business strategies. Held from October 10 to 12, 2024, at FEB UNS, SMBCC consists of four stages: registration, preliminary rounds, semifinals, and the final round. The initial three stages were conducted online, while the final round was conducted through an on-site session.
Ten teams advanced to the final round, including three teams from Institut Teknologi Bandung (ITB), three teams from Universitas Indonesia, one from Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM), one from Universitas Pembangunan Nasional Veteran Jakarta, and two from UNS.
During his opening remarks at the SMBCC final, Dr. Sinto Sunaryo, S.E., M.Si., SHRM.CP., the Head of the Undergraduate Management Study Program, extended her felicitations to the finalists. “Congratulations to all the teams for making it to the final round. We highly appreciate this annual SMBCC event as it stands out as one of the nationally recognized business competitions,” she stated.
Dr. Sinto emphasized the importance of national achievements, noting their significant impact on institutional reputation and accreditation, particularly with LAMEMBA. Such achievements also enhance the résumés of graduating students, adding valuable milestones as they enter the professional world.
“Those who compete at the national level championship demonstrates the caliber of the best teams from Indonesia’s leading business schools and universities. I encourage all participants to make the most of SMBCC, not only to enrich your accomplishments but also as a preparation for your careers. Remember, being a student is not just about studying; it’s about building character and carving accomplishments,” she added.
The SMBCC 2024 final was officially launched with a symbolic identity badge pinning ceremony by Dyah Wasita Winahyu, S.E., Non-Academic Sub-Coordinator of FEB UNS, for two student participants representing SMBCC.
