Community Service in Krikilan Village, Sragen: MESP FEB UNS Collaborates with Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia
Strengthening the synergy of international community service as part of the Tri Dharma of Higher Education, the Master’s Program in Economics and Development Studies (MESP), Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB), Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) conducted a community service program in Krikilan Village, Sragen, on Monday, July 29, 2024.
The initiative aims to foster community collaboration to enhance the international tourism value of the Krikilan Village. This activity is expected to create mutual benefits through the exchange of tourism knowledge between the community of Krikilan Village and a delegation of faculty members from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia.
The delegation from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia was led by Associate Professor Dr. Norlida Hanim Binti Mohd Salleh, accompanied by Dr. Suziana Binti Hasan. They were warmly welcomed by the FEB UNS team, led by Prof. Dr. Izza Mafruhah, S.E., M.Si., Dr. Nurul Istiqomah, S.E., M.Si., and Dewi Ismoyowati, S.E., M.Ec.Dev., along with their team.
The community service program began with remarks from Prof. Dr. Izza Mafruhah, S.E., M.Si., and the village officials of Krikilan. The village officials expressed their gratitude and welcomed the initiative, highlighting its potential to benefit the local SMEs and to further develop the tourism value in Krikilan.
Following the opening remarks, Prof. Norlida Hanim Binti Mohd Salleh presented material on tourism in both Malaysia and Indonesia. Her presentation aims to inspire and motivate the SMEs in Krikilan Village to continue enhancing the tourism value in Krikilan, Sangiran.
