INTRODUCTION

The undergraduate (bachelor) program in Development Economics of the Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Sebelas Maret was established in 1976 according to the Presidential Decree Number 10/1976 dated 8th March 1976. The program started on 1st April 1976. The latest decree for this program was issued by the Ministry of Education Number 8499/D/T/K-N/2011 dates 23rd August 2011. The program has been ranked “A” by the National Accreditation Board since 2008 until now.

 

VISION

Becoming a high performance and sustainable Development Economics study program at national and international level based on the noble value of national culture.

 

MISSION

  1. Conducting education and teaching on Bachelor (S1) degree in the field of Development Economics both scientific and applied to produce competent graduates that are able to compete in national and international level.
  2. Conducting high quality research that publishes in the national accredited journal and reputable international journals that can contribute to science development and improve welfare based on scientific ethics.
  3. Conducting community services program that focus on community empowerment on the basis of the development economics principles.

This program is supported by 38 qualified academic staffs who hold Master and PhD in the field of Economics (20 Master, 15 Doctorate and 3 Professors qualifications). RESEARCH INTEREST OF ACADEMIC STAFFS

The academic staffs join the research groups both in the faculty and university level. The research groups cover many areas/field, such as Industrial Economics, Sustainable Development and Green Business, Resource and Institutions, and Monetary and Fiscal Studies.

 

PARTNERSHIP

  1. Joint Seminar between Development Economics Program UNS and SMERU Research Institute on Regional Economic Development on 30thMarch 2016 in FEB UNS. The participants are academicians and students in the Faculty of Economics and Business, UNS. The presenters are Prof. Dr. Ir. Darsono, M.Si. (UNS), Dr. Siti Aisyah Tri Rahayu, M.Si. (UNS), Ir. Ahyani, M.A. (Bappeda Kota Surakarta), Dr. Tri Mulyaningsih, S.E., M.Si. (UNS), Nurul Istiqomah, S.E., M.Si. (UNS), and Prof. Dr. Mugi Rahardjo, M.Si. (UNS).
  2. Organizer for Export Import Certification with National Bureau for Profession Certification on 4th– 5thNovember 2017. This program facilitates students to join the exam and receives the certification on export and import. There were 54 students who successfully receive the certification from 58 participants.
  3. Joint International Conference of the 14thIRSA Conference between Development Economics Program UNS and the Indonesian Regional Science Association (IRSA) on 23rd– 24thJuly 2018 in Best Western Premier City, Surakarta. The theme of the conference is “Strengthening Regional and Local Economies”. The speakers of the conference are Prof. Dr. Marie Elka Pangestu (UI), Dr. Yuri Sato (IDE-JETRO), Prof. Lisa Cameron (Melbourne University), Dr. Sudarno Sumarto (SMERU Research Institute), Dr. Solikin M. Juhro (BI Institute), and Prof. Iwan Jaya Azis (Universitas Cornell). The conference participants are the academicians, researchers, students, and policy makers in the area of economics and regional economics.
  4. Collaboration between Development Economics Program UNS and Local Governments of Ngawi in developing and creating the new policy in Ngawi Region. Based on the letter No. 344/UN27.04/KP/2018, the Local Government of Ngawi appointed some academicians of DevEc UNS to conduct the regional economics analysis in Ngawi. Those are Dr. Evi Gravitiani, S.E., M.Si., Drs. Supriyono, M.Si., Drs. Kresno Sarosa Pribadi, M.Si., Dr. Suryanto, Dra. Nunung Sri Mulyani, M.Si., Dewi Ismoyowati, S.E., M.Ec.Dev., Mulyadi, S.E., M.Ec.Dev., Nurul Istiqomah, S.E., M.Si., dan Izza Mafruhah, S.E., M.Si.

ALUMNI

Graduates of bachelor program in DevEc of FEB UNS have had position in public and private institutions, such as in ministry of finance, central bank, financial service authority, banks, state-owned enterprise, state and regional planning institution, research institute and “think tank”, state and local government, universities, large private firms in Indonesia and multinational companies. In addition, some alumni also open their own business as entrepreneur.

 

STUDENT ACHIEVEMENT

Students have some achievements both academic and non-academic achievements. For academic achievement, the students’ average GPA is 3.45 in the last five years. The average waiting time for the graduates to get their first job is 3.3 months and 80 percent of alumni work in a position which is in line with their field. Our students also won in several national competitions, such as The National Seminar in Business in 2016 and Trisakti Economics and Business Fair and Competition in 2014.

 

LEARNING OUTCOMES

  1. LO1: Students are able to understand the economic theories of microeconomics and macroeconomics.
  2. LO2: Students have ability to understand the current economic phenomenon and the future direction of economy and able to design the solution for the economic problems.

Program sarjana ekonomi pembangunan FEB UNS ini memiliki spesialisasi pada pengembangan ilmu ekonomi terapan yang menguatkan ekonomi lokal. Mahasiswa yang belajar di prodi ini ditanamkan minat untuk lebih banyak berpartisipasi pada pengembangan ekonomi yang secara geografis dan kultural dekat dengan mereka. Jika perekonomian lokal berkembang, maka pada gilirannya akan mampu memperkuat basis perekonomian nasional. Inilah yang menjadi pembeda prodi ekonomi pembangunan ini dengan prodi sejenis di universitas lain

Program Studi Ekonomi Pembangunan telah melakukan beberapa kegiatan dalamrangka menjamin pelaksanaan kerjasama, yaitu:

  1. Menjalin kerjasama dengan alumni.
  2. Menjalin kerjasama dengan perguruan tinggi tempat dosen-dosen Prodi EP studi lanjut. Kerjasama ini dalam bentuk MoU.
  3. Menjalin kerjasama dengan lembaga pemerintah dan swasta.

Hasil kegiatan-kegiatan diatas adalah:

  1. Kuliah tamu yang diisi oleh alumni.
  2. Kuliah tamu yang diisi oleh dosen perguruan tinggi mitra.
  3. Kuliah tamu yang diisi oleh pimpinan lembaga pemerintah dan swasta.
  4. Aktivitas magang mahasiswa baik di lembaga pemerintah maupun swasta.
  5. Penunjukkan dosen Prodi EP sebagai narasumber/tenaga ahli di lembaga pemerintah dan swasta.

BAN PT terakreditasi A dengan skor 365 tertanggal 22 Maret 2014dengan Surat Keputusan BAN-PT No  082/SK/BAN-PT/Akred/S/III/2014 tentang Nilai dan Peringkat Akreditasi Program

Pembentukan himpunan alumni MESP sudah dibentuk pada 30 November 2010. Pembentukan himpinan Alumni MESP tersebut berlangsung di The Sunan Hotel bersamaan dengan acara Seminar Nasional. Himpunan Alumni MESP tersebut diketuai oleh Drs. Supriyono, M.Si. Beberapa agenda yang sudah dilakukan oleh himpunan alumni tersebut adalah acara temu alumni, diskusi, dan pemberian hibah buku kepada Program oleh Himpunan Alumni.
