Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB), Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS), organized the 2026 Internship Dissemination virtually via a Zoom Meeting on Tuesday (21/4/2026). This activity was targeted at the class of 2024 students to equip them in preparing for the implementation of the internship program. In his opening remarks, the Dean of FEB UNS, Prof. Bhimo Rizky Samudro, S.E., M.Si., Ph.D., emphasized the need for revamping the internship system to make it more directed and impactful.

FEB UNS strives to encourage a more structured program dissemination with partner institutions, mapping the roles of faculty members, and strengthening program sustainability. Thus, allowing the benefits of the internship to be received by both students and partner institutions. “Hopefully, students will have a clear guide, making the internship more measurable and delivering real results,” Prof. Bhimo remarked.

Meanwhile, the Vice Dean for Student and Alumni Affairs, Tastaftiyan Risfandy, S.E., M.Sc., Ph.D., explained the schemes and mechanisms of the 2026 FEB UNS internship program in his presentation. He stated that there are three types of internships students can participate in: compulsory internships, impactful internships, and independent internships.
Compulsory internships are conducted for 1–2 months with a weight of 1–3 credits, while impactful internships have a longer duration of 4–6 months and can be recognized for up to 20 credits with a structured learning curriculum. Meanwhile, independent internships are flexible with a duration of 1–6 months and can be converted into a compulsory internship under certain conditions.

Furthermore, it was explained that all students must meet general requirements, such as holding an active status of at least semester 5, completing all administrative processes through the AKMA system, and composing an individual report focusing on a specific field of study. During the internship period, students also receive BPJS insurance protection as part of a partnership with BPJS Ketenagakerjaan Surakarta. The session also outlined the complete workflow of the internship execution, starting from the pre-internship phase, implementation, to reporting, including logbook obligations, assessments, and uploading the final report.

During the event, students also received a presentation from BPJS Ketenagakerjaan. Ary Yusdianto, a Special Account Representative of BPJS Ketenagakerjaan Surakarta, explained the importance of employment social security protection for students undergoing internships. He emphasized that this protection provides a sense of security while students carry out work activities at partner institutions.
