The Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB), Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS), organized an online academic counseling and mentoring session on Tuesday, May 26, 2026, for undergraduate students from the cohorts of 2019, 2020, and 2021 who are approaching their maximum study limits or experiencing difficulties completing their degrees. The session commenced with an introductory address by the Vice Dean for Academic and Research Affairs of FEB UNS, Prof. Tri Mulyaningsih.

In her remarks, Prof. Tri emphasized that this initiative reflects the faculty’s dedicated commitment to ensuring students can successfully conclude their higher education. “The purpose of this gathering is a form of care provided by the faculty. We ultimately want the absolute best for all of you so that you can successfully complete your studies,” she stated.

Prof. Tri further detailed that the invited participants comprised students from the 2019 cohort entering their seventh year, the 2020 cohort entering their sixth year, and the 2021 cohort entering their fifth year of study. Through this forum, the faculty aimed to directly hear the diverse challenges encountered by the students and collaboratively formulate effective solutions.

Furthermore, Prof. Tri highlighted the critical importance of understanding academic regulations and maintaining active student status through mandatory semester registration. She noted that FEB UNS has published the 2025 Academic Guidelines, which are accessible via the official FEB UNS website tailored to each respective study program. “Should there be financial constraints regarding the tuition fee (UKT) payment, the university provides mechanisms to apply for financial relief. However, administrative registration must still be completed to ensure your student status remains active,” she explained.

In addition, students were briefed on the official mechanisms for academic leave, thesis completion, internships, as well as withdrawal procedures as a last resort for those facing critical time constraints.

Nevertheless, Prof. Tri strongly encouraged students to persevere in completing their degrees, particularly those who have already reached the final thesis writing stage. “For those who only have their undergraduate thesis remaining, we sincerely hope you will strive to cross the finish line, as you are just one step away,” she urged.

Following the main plenary session, the event proceeded into breakout rooms managed by the respective Heads of Study Programs. During these breakout sessions, students engaged in detailed discussions regarding academic obstacles, progress updates, and strategic measures to accelerate their graduation. Through this monitoring and evaluation initiative, FEB UNS aims to facilitate students in graduating punctually while strengthening the communication channels between the faculty, study programs, and students. This activity aligns with FEB UNS’s commitment to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly Goal 4 (Quality Education), by providing inclusive and sustainable higher education support services.
