Collaborative effort to improve legal protection and the economic value of regional flagship products continue through the Applied Research with Prototype Output – Kemdiktisaintek 2025 entitled “A Regulatory Model for Regional Flagship Products Based on Sustainable Tourism.” This study represents a cross-disciplinary collaboration between Sarjiyanto, S.E., MBA., Ph.D., from the Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) and Dr. Abdul Qodir Jaelani, SH., MH., from the Faculty of Law, Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS).

According to the Directorate General of Intellectual Property (DJKI) of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights of the Republic of Indonesia, a Geographical Indication (GI) is a sign indicating the area of origin of a product that possesses a certain reputation, quality, or characteristics attributable to geographical environmental factors, including natural factors, human factors, or a combination of both. A GI may take the form of a place name, word, image, letter, or a combination of these elements attached to a product.

This research is driven by the need to enhance regional economic development through the protection of communal intellectual property, enabling regional flagship products to achieve stronger reputations and higher economic value. In 2025, the two UNS researchers completed a mentoring process for Robusta coffee farmer groups in Lemukih Village, Sawan Sub-district, Buleleng Municipality, Bali, to obtain GI recognition from the Ministry of Law and Human Rights of the Republic of Indonesia.

The assistance was conducted comprehensively, covering institutional development through the establishment of the Lemukih Buleleng Robusta Coffee Geographical Indication Protection Community (MPIG); mentoring in business management from production processes to marketing; preparation of the Geographical Indication Description Document outlining the product’s reputation, quality, and characteristics as a prerequisite for GI submission; and field verification by DJKI.

From 24–27 November 2025, the DJKI Geographical Indication Expert Team led by Gunawan, S.Si., carried out field verification. This activity was supported by both UNS research team members, Sarjiyanto, Ph.D., and Dr. Abdul Qodir Jaelani. The verification process also involved various regional stakeholders, including the Head of the Buleleng Municipality Agriculture Office, Gd. Melandrat; the Head of the Buleleng Municipality Tourism Office, Gede Dody Sukma Oktiva Askara, S.Sos., M.Si.; the Village Head of Lemukih, Drs. I Nyoman Singgih; and the leaders and members of Subak Gunung Sari and Subak Manik Galih.

Through this series of processes, Lemukih Robusta Coffee is now approaching official recognition as a Geographical Indication product. This recognition is expected to create broader opportunities for improving farmers’ welfare, supporting village-level economic development, and promoting local potential managed in a sustainable manner.

Lemukih Robusta Coffee as a Regional Flagship Product that requires protection and optimization of its economic value as a foundation for regional economic development

Sarjiyanto, Ph.D., as a member of the research team and Advisor to the Lemukih Coffee MPIG, stated that the involvement of FEB UNS lecturers reflects the university’s commitment to providing direct community assistance.

The involvement of undergraduate lecturers from the Development Economics Study Program, FEB UNS, in assisting the Lemukih Village community represents one of the commitments of the FEB UNS academic community in supporting the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 1 (No Poverty), SDG 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth), SDG 9 (Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure), SDG 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities), SDG 12 (Responsible Consumption and Production), and SDG 16 (Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions).

A remarkable achievement is once again accomplished by a student of the Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB), Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS). Siti Marlina, a student of the Development Economics Study Program, FEB UNS, earns the Best Favorite Video Presentation award at the Tidar International Conference on Economics, Management, Business, and Accounting (TICEMBA) 2025, organized by the Faculty of Economics, Universitas Tidar (FE Untidar) on Thursday, 30 October 2025.

The international conference, conducted in a hybrid format at the General Lecture Hall (GKU) dr. H.R. Suparsono, is attended by 269 participants from various universities and research institutions, consisting of 200 onsite and 69 online participants. Taking on a grand theme of “Sustainable Development in a Changing World: Challenges, Solutions, and Collaborations,” TICEMBA 2025 serves as an important platform for cross-disciplinary academic collaboration in addressing global economic challenges in an era of transformation.

Marlin presents a scientific work entitled “Do AI and FinTech Drive Sustainable Finance in Indonesia? A Systematic Literature Review Insight” as one of the presenter in this international agenda. The article examines the role of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Financial Technology (FinTech) in supporting sustainable finance in Indonesia through a Systematic Literature Review enriched with bibliometric analysis using VOSviewer and the PRISMA method.

Speaking to feb.uns.ac.id, Marlin explains that her research highlights the contribution of technology to enhancing green economic development. “AI and FinTech play a significant role in accelerating financial inclusion and promoting sustainable economic practices. Through technology, the distribution of funds, risk assessment, and the management of green investments can be carried out more efficiently and transparently,” she states.

The findings indicate that the integration of technology and sustainability forms a critical foundation for strengthening national economic resilience and accelerating Indonesia’s transition toward an inclusive and environmentally conscious digital financial system. For her conference presentation, Marlin produced a communicative and engaging video concept (link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9rzWl3P7Q_Y).

“My video concept uses simple language and a storytelling approach to avoid rigidness. I wanted the audience to feel like they were being taken through a story rather than listening to a formal presentation. I also added subtitles to make the content easier to follow,” she explains.

TICEMBA 2025 becomes a valuable experience for Siti Marlina as it marks her first international conference. “I am very grateful to meet many incredible individuals from diverse backgrounds. Even though most participants were lecturers and postgraduate students, the experience motivated me to learn more and gain confidence,” she says.

Further, Marlin states that her achievement is made possible under a supervision of FEB UNS faculty, Ayya Agmulia Asmarani Islam, S.E., M.E., “I received substantial guide from Ms. Ayya, starting from the early stages of writing the paper to my conference preparation. Her support was essential in deepening my understanding of the research and preparing myself as a presenter,” Marlin adds.

For Marlin, this award becomes a motivation to maintain her academic achievement. “This award is both an appreciation and an encouragement for me to keep contributing through research. Moving forward, I hope to explore further the intersection of economics, technology, financial inclusion, and sustainability,” she remarks.

This accomplishment reflects the strong research spirit of FEB UNS students in addressing global economic issues through scientific and data-driven approaches. Through TICEMBA 2025, Marlin not only brings pride to FEB UNS but also strengthens the academic reputation of Universitas Sebelas Maret in digital economics, sustainable finance, and financial technology research.

This achievement also aligns with UNS’s commitment to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly in supporting inclusive economic development, technological innovation, and environmentally oriented sustainable development.

The development of financial technology (FinTech) in Indonesia maintains its positive trend, although its growth remains slower than the expansion of bank lending. In the Special Region of Yogyakarta (DIY), the two most widely used FinTech services are paylater facilities and online loans. This phenomenon attracts the interest of two lecturers from the Development Economics Study Program, Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS), Malik Cahyadin, S.E., M.Si., Ph.D., and Ayya Agmulia Asmarani Islam, S.E., M.E., to conduct an in-depth study on FinTech user behavior in the region. The survey is conducted from July to early August 2025 with funding support from the 2025 DRPM Dikti Research Grant.

As part of the dissemination process, both researchers serve as speakers in a public lecture entitled “Financial Technology User Behavior in the Province of Yogyakarta in 2025,” held at the Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta (UMY) on Friday (31/10/2025). The event is attended by approximately 80 participants consisting of students and lecturers from the Development Economics Study Program of FEB UMY.

Opened by the Head of the Development Economics Study Program of FEB UMY, Dyah Titis Kusuma Wardani, S.E., MIDEC., Ph.D., she expresses appreciation for the collaboration between the two institutions. She states, “We would like to thank the lecturers from FEB UNS for delivering a public lecture at UMY. Hopefully, future public lectures and Community Engagement activities between study programs can be strengthened to advance the academic environment and enhance students’ competencies in economics.”

In her presentation, Ayya Agmulia Asmarani Islam explains that the availability of various paylater and online loan platforms reflects the strong potential for digital financial inclusion. However, she also emphasizes the need for vigilance. She explains, “In choosing FinTech service we must only consider valid information issued by the Financial Services Authority (OJK) to avoid fraudulent illegal FinTech practices. Students should pay attention to OJK’s official information, this is an expected forms of financial literacy from an academic community.”

She further notes that survey findings show FinTech users in DIY generally demonstrate good compliance. She adds, “Repayment compliance among FinTech users remains high, indicating that the community tends to fulfill its financial obligations.”

Meanwhile, Malik Cahyadin presents survey results from 351 FinTech users in the Province of Yogyakarta, consisting of students, formal workers, and micro-entrepreneurs. The descriptive results show that 61.54% of respondents are female and 38.46% male; 85.18% are high school and undergraduate graduates; the most common age range is 20–27 years; and the majority are Muslim (93.16%).

Malik highlights that the most influential factor affecting FinTech usage decisions is individuals’ ability to adapt to financial technology and the perceived benefits it provides. “Technology adaptation positively influences FinTech usage decisions, while age and education level contribute negatively to transaction intensity,” he states.

He also provides several recommendations for authorities and industry stakeholders. “OJK and FinTech service providers need to further improve literacy efforts to ensure that the public can make appropriate financial decisions. In addition, FinTech governance and customer data security need to be strengthened in a continuous manner,” he concluded.

This public lecture serves as an academic collaboration between the Development Economics Study Program FEB UNS and the Development Economics Study Program of FEB UMY. Beyond expanding scholarly networks, the activity is also expected to enhance digital financial literacy and raise students’ awareness of responsible financial behavior in the era of financial technology.

This event supports the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 4 (Quality Education) through strengthening financial literacy among students, and SDG 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth) by promoting public understanding of inclusive, secure, and sustainable financial technology use.

The development of financial technology (FinTech) has expanded not only public access to lending services but also facilitated financial transactions, both in cash and installment-based. In line with this growth, the Financial Services Authority (OJK) has issued several regulations, from POJK No. 13/2018 on Digital Financial Innovation to POJK No. 40/2024 on Information Technology-Based Co-Funding Services, to enhance oversight of FinTech operations.

FinTech business growth in Indonesia continues to move in a positive direction, although the sector remains relatively small compared to the banking industry. This development encourages academics to study FinTech user behavior and disseminate the findings to students as part of academic learning.

As part of this dissemination effort, lecturers from the Development Economics Study Program, Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB), Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) deliver a public lecture entitled “FinTech User Behavior in Central Java and Monetary Policy Responses” on Saturday, 1 November 2025 at the Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Tidar (UNTIDAR). The event is attended by approximately 80 participants consisting of lecturers and students.

The Head of the Development Economics Study Program, FEB UNTIDAR, Dr. Emma Dwi Ratnasari, S.E., M.Si., conveys appreciation for the inter-university collaboration that supports the implementation of the Tri Dharma of Higher Education. “Public lectures such as this serve as an important platform for sharing research findings and enhancing students’ perspectives through direct engagement with researchers,” she said in her remarks.

Ika Alicia Sasanti, S.E., M.E., a lecturer of Development Economics at FEB UNS, in her presentation highlights the importance of accurate FinTech literacy for students in the digital era. She emphasizes that FinTech platforms currently operating are regulated by OJK and may serve as relevant topics for academic inquiry. “Students need to understand both the opportunities and risks of FinTech to make productive use of it. A repayment compliance rate exceeding 90 percent shows that the community is becoming more responsible in meeting its financial obligations,” she explained.

She further emphasizes the need for sound business governance and data security to support healthy digital financial inclusion, and she points out the importance of monetary policy that adapts to future developments in the FinTech landscape.

Dr. Malik Cahyadin, FEB UNS LecturerFollowing this, Malik Cahyadin, S.E., M.Si., Ph.D., a lecturer of Development Economics at FEB UNS, presents findings from his research on FinTech user behavior in the Province of Central Java, funded by the UNS Institute for Research and Community Engagement (LPPM) in 2025. The study is conducted from July to early August 2025 with 585 respondents consisting of formal workers and micro-entrepreneurs.

Survey results show that 61.03 percent of respondents are female, 56.41 percent are senior high school graduates, and the majority are aged 17–25 years. Malik explains that financial technology adoption, installment repayment ability, and trust level influence FinTech transaction intensity positively. In contrast, age and gender influence transaction levels negatively. “Beyond literacy, OJK and FinTech service providers must ensure that digital financial services operate in a trustworthy and secure manner. Bank Indonesia should also consider the implications of FinTech for money supply and inflation,” he noted.

This public lecture strengthens academic collaboration between higher education institutions and serves as a platform for integrating research outputs into student learning on digital economics. The dissemination of this research also contributes to the advancement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 4 (Quality Education) and SDG 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth), by promoting financial literacy, digital inclusion, and improved financial governance.

Development Economics Study Program, Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB), Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS), organized a Research-Based Policy Planning Workshop on Wednesday, October 15, 2025, at UNS Inn. This agenda is part of a collaborative initiative between the Development Economics Study Program FEB UNS, the National Development Planning Agency (Bappenas) of the Republic of Indonesia, and the Regional Research and Innovation Agency (BRIDA) of Central Java Province. The workshop aims to strengthen the role of academic research in supporting evidence-based policy for regional development. Through this initiative, universities are expected to serve as strategic partners for local governments in developing adaptive, innovative, and impactful public policies.

The workshop opened with remarks from Johadi, S.E., M.Sc., Head of Cooperation at FEB UNS, who emphasized the importance of enhancing fiscal planning and public policy capacity amid regional financial constraints. “Hopefully, this workshop will bring new perspectives amid fiscal pressures. Our budget base will decline by about 19.9 percent in 2026 compared to 2025, which will have a major impact since intergovernmental transfers account for around 83 percent of our budget. Given this situation, research conducted by local governments in collaboration with BRIDA and Bappeda must propose policy recommendations that are effective, well-targeted, and outcome-oriented,” said Johadi.

He further highlights the importance of embedding sustainability and accountability principles in regional public investment. “Public investment must generate good returns or deliver a high public service obligation. If neither is achieved, it means public funds have not been utilized optimally. Therefore, research and innovation at universities must contribute to policies that are sustainable and inclusive,” he added.

Johadi also reaffirmed FEB UNS’s commitment to building cross-sector collaboration not only with government institutions but also with business actors and the wider community. “At FEB UNS, we have units that specifically focus on strengthening collaborative networks. The expectation is that universities can serve as centers for research development that represent the interests of policymakers and support MSMEs to become more productive,” he explained.

The workshop consisted of two main sessions. The first session discussed Development Planning and Policy Papers, presented by speakers from the Ministry of National Development Planning (Bappenas), highlighting the role of academics in developing research-based policy briefs. The second session featured speakers from BRIDA Central Java Province, who discussed the importance of regional research and innovation as a foundation for long-term development planning.

The event was attended by approximately 25 participants, including lecturers, researchers, and representatives from Bappeda and BRIDA across the Solo Raya region, including Surakarta, Sukoharjo, Karanganyar, Boyolali, Sragen, and Wonogiri. Discussions were active and productive, addressing various technical issues in data-based planning, budgeting, and policy evaluation.

Through this activity, FEB UNS reinforces its role as a strategic partner for regional governments in advancing research-based policy development. The synergy between universities and planning institutions is expected to strengthen local governments’ technocratic capacity to formulate policies that are effective, efficient, and sustainable in the long term.

The Research-Based Policy Planning Workshop also supports the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth), SDG 9 (Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure), and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals) through institutional capacity building, collaborative research, and inclusive, sustainable regional development.

The session was attended by the Vice Dean of Academic and Research Affairs, Prof. Tri Mulyaningsih, S.E., M.Si., Ph.D., the Vice Dean of Student and Alumni Affairs, Tastaftiyan Risfandy, S.E., M.Sc., Ph.D., the Heads of Management and Development Economics Study Programs, and lecturers of related courses at FEB UNS.

In her remarks to the Head of Study Program and lecturers, Prof. Tri explained that the Green Jobs LMS is part of a strategic collaboration between FEB UNS, the Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Gadjah Mada (FEB UGM), Coca-Cola Europacific Partners (CCEP), and the international partner “Skills for Impact.” The initiative aims to integrate the Green Jobs approach into university curricula.

At FEB UNS, the LMS will be implemented in various courses such as Human Resource Management, Human Resource Economics, and Employment Economics. The customized materials cover topics including current labor issues, company case studies, labor migration, and trade unions. The LMS is expected to address global challenges in employment, the green economy, and environmental sustainability. Through this platform, students can access online, interactive, and flexible learning resources.

“Integrating Green Jobs into our curriculum is an important step in preparing students for the future job market, which increasingly emphasizes sustainability. The program will run from October 6 to November 1, replacing regular lectures during that period. Therefore, lecturers are expected to inform students that participation is mandatory. Attendance will be monitored by the Academic Subdivision,” she explained.

The Green Jobs training materials consist of five main modules: Fundamentals of Green Jobs and Global Context, Systems Thinking and Solution Design, Technical and Digital Skills for the Circular Economy, Stakeholder Engagement and Behavioral Change, and Green Career Pathways and Entrepreneurship. FEB students enrolled in Human Resource Management, Human Resource Economics, and Employment Economics courses will join the learning sessions. Registration is carried out independently via ugm.id/PendaftaranGreenJobs, and all information will be delivered directly to students through WhatsApp Groups,” he explained.

Participants will receive an international certificate from CCEP, free access to the five training modules, flexible online learning opportunities, and the chance to win cash prizes of up to IDR 5,000,000. During the discussion session, Muhammad Yusuf Indra Purnama, Ph.D., Head of the Development Economics Study Program, suggested that the independent learning process should remain under lecturer supervision to ensure student discipline and completion.

The implementation of the Green Jobs LMS at FEB UNS is aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly in promoting decent work, inclusive economic growth, and climate action. By integrating sustainability and green economy education into the curriculum, FEB UNS contributes actively to preparing young generations who are ready to face the challenges of the future labor market with responsibility and commitment to sustainable development.

The Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB), Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) organized a Guest Lecture to welcome new undergraduate students of the Economics Study Program on Friday, August 29, 2025, at the Soedarah Soepono Hall, FEB UNS. This event served as part of the faculty’s efforts to broaden students’ perspectives on strategic issues in economics.

In his opening remarks, Prof. Bhimo Rizky Samudro, S.E., M.Si., Ph.D., Dean of FEB UNS, emphasized that this activity is an important forum that provides students with in-depth insights, information, and up-to-date data, particularly on domestic and global economic developments. He highlighted its strategic importance for students, especially those entering their seventh semester.

“This event is the right moment for students to ask questions, engage in discussions, and analyze current economic developments,” stated Prof. Bhimo.

He further explained that through this forum, students not only gain experience in data workshops or training but also build a strong theoretical foundation and understanding of data that underlies economic analysis. This way, students are expected to conduct more accurate estimations and predictions in their research.

Meanwhile, Ferry Ardiyanto, Interim Deputy Assistant for Macroeconomics and Fiscal Affairs, in his address to the new students of the Economics Study Program, reminded them of the importance of perseverance and confidence in choosing Development Economics as a major, which he believes offers promising prospects in both the public and private sectors. Students were encouraged to pursue a path aligned with their passion to maximize their potential.

“Studying economics is very exciting because it covers many aspects that can be learned and applied—from theory, methodology, to the use of various analytical software. Believe me, economics is a highly promising field, and expertise in development economics is greatly needed,” he said.

The Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs also offers internship opportunities for students. These internships not only provide practical experience but also broaden professional networks and deepen understanding of public policy formulation. Through this initiative, FEB UNS hopes students will gain not only academic insights but also motivation and readiness to pursue careers in economics while contributing to national development.

The Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB), Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS), held a Workshop on the Integration of Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka (MBKM), Internship, and Community Service (KKN) on Thursday, July 10, 2025, at UNS Inn. The event was attended by Undergraduate Study Program Heads, Heads of Academic Subdivisions, Academic Staff and Operators, as well as the Personnel in Charge for the Internship at Study Program level. The workshop aims to build a common understanding and formulate guidelines for the implementation of internships and KKN within FEB UNS, in line with the latest policy of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology.

In her opening remarks, Prof. Tri Mulyaningsih, S.E., M.Si., Ph.D., Vice Dean of Academic and Research Affairs, emphasized that internships are one of the key components of MBKM Program, yet varying interpretations and inconsistent information still remain. The shift in terminology and scheme, such as from “MBKM Internship” to “Impactful Internship,” requires adjustments in governance and policies both at the faculty and study program levels.

This initiative is a joint-effort undertaken by the Academic Affairs Division (Division 1) and the Student and Alumni Affairs Division (Third Division). In its presentation, the Division highlighted the importance of structuring mandatory internships, which apply generally to all study programs and must be reported to each program. On the other hand, there are also independently managed internships by students within the MBKM framework, now known as Impactful Internships.

“With this workshop, we hope to establish a common understanding among the faculties and study program administrators regarding the forms, procedures, and governance of internships and KKN. In addition, this activity also serves as a starting point for drafting internship implementation guidelines that align with the latest regulations,” said Prof. Tri.

It is important to understand that the current implementation of internships refers to Ministerial Regulation (Permendikbudristek) No. 63 of 2024 on the Implementation of Student Internships. FEB UNS, through Division 3, is committed to preparing and launching the Internship Handbook in the near future. One of the key discussions was the positioning and relationship between Mandatory Internships, MBKM Internships, and Impactful Internships within the curriculum structure and academic policies.

The discussion managed to establish that although terminology and implementation platforms have changed, both the MBKM Internships and Impactful Internships share similarities, particularly in providing opportunities for students to engage in off-campus activities for up to two semesters. Through this workshop, FEB UNS seeks to ensure that the future implementation of internships and KKN can be carried out in an integrated and effective manner, in accordance with student learning needs and the dynamics of national policies.

This workshop is also aligned with FEB UNS’s commitment to supporting the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 4 (Quality Education), by strengthening curricula based on real-world and community experiences; SDG 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth), by preparing students with work readiness and skills relevant to industry needs; and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals), by fostering collaboration between universities, businesses, government, and communities in the implementation of internships, KKN, and other MBKM programs.

With a more structured and impactful integration of MBKM, internships, and KKN, FEB UNS hopes to produce graduates who are not only academically excellent but also adaptive, collaborative, and capable of making tangible contributions to sustainable development at the local, national, and global levels.

The Introduction to Campus Life for New Students (PKKMB) at the Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Sebelas Maret (FEB UNS), was conducted from 19 to 21 August 2025. A series of activities, both at the university and faculty level, were organized to welcome the new cohort. The materials covered included National Insights and State Defense, Academic Ethics and Integrity, Graduate Character, and others.

The opening of PKKMB FEB UNS took place at Djarwanto PS Hall on Wednesday, 20 August 2025, attended by the Dean Office, Heads of Study Programs, Head of Administrative Office, Heads of Subdivision, and all new students.

Dean of FEB UNS, Prof. Bhimo Rizky Samudro, S.E., M.Si., Ph.D., conveyed three key messages in his address: the importance of ethics, building networks, and developing tolerance during the study period on campus. “I would like to remind you, your presence here is not solely due to your own efforts, but also because of the role of God Almighty and the prayers of your parents, especially your mother. A mother’s prayer is vital in your life journey,” said Prof. Bhimo.

He emphasized that students should never forget to honor their parents as a core foundation in pursuing education. In addition, he reminded them of the importance of respecting lecturers and all faculty staff. “As the young generation, ethics must be the primary foundation you hold firmly,” he stressed.

The Dean also encouraged students to actively build networks by joining student organizations. “Do not just go back and forth between home and class. Join at least one student organization, thus, you can expand your networking and do not live in isolation,” he urged.

Alongside ethics and networking, Prof. Bhimo highlighted the importance of tolerance and mutual respect. He explained that UNS provides five places of worship on campus as a tangible expression of its respect for diversity and pluralism. “Inclusivity and pluralism are hallmarks of UNS that we must uphold together,” he remarked.

Following his speech, Prof. Bhimo introduced the Vice Deans, Heads of Study Programs, the Head of Administrative Office, and Heads of Subdivision of FEB UNS.

The three key messages—ethics, networking, and tolerance—are aligned with the spirit of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Ethics supports SDG 4 (Quality Education) by instilling strong character values. Networking contributes to SDG 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth) through the development of skills and career opportunities. Meanwhile, tolerance and respect for diversity reflect the values of SDG 10 (Reduced Inequalities) and SDG 16 (Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions).
