About Us
Teaching and Learning


Our undergraduate program of economics is one of courses in economics which focused on the economic development in developing countries. The economic principles that our students learn in our undergraduate program of economics will direct our graduates to find a solution for various problems in economic development.

Our program has a significant role for decision or policy maker in a company, government, state owned enterprises, or even banking. Students will receive in-depth knowledge on human resource and institutional, business, monetary and international economic, and development planning. Our program is designed to prepare students who will be able to adapt with the dynamic working world.

Following are the undergraduate program of economics excellences:

  1. The transition between graduated and finding first job is less than 4 months
  2. Our graduates work in their area of expertise according to the concentration they take on their study.
  3. Accredited A from BAN PT.
  4. Have an affiliation with Ikatan Mahasiswa Ekonomi Pembangunan Indonesia (IMEPI)


Our vision is to become a program that keep developing its program and participates in preparing excellent and competitive human resources who provides a benefit for their community or environment.


Our missions:

  • Generate graduates who have the ability to analyze economic theory and its implementation in solving economic problems in the society and business environment.
  • Develop researches that provide benefits for developing community welfare and economics field and other activities which is oriented at socio-economic life.
  • Develop community service program that can fulfill community needs, especially for the poor.

About Us



The undergraduate program of economics in FEB UNS equips their students with the ability to analyze an economic condition to take an economic policy. The economic policy can be implemented at corporate level, state owned enterprise level, or government level.

First Year (First and Second Semester)

On their first year students will be provided with following knowledge:

  1. Basic knowledge on economics.
  2. Language and cultural knowledge.
  3. Basic knowledge on business to shape students entrepreneurial character.
  4. Basic knowledge on courses and economic testing method.

Second Year (Third and Fourth Year)

On their second year, students will be provided with the following knowledge:

  1. Advance economics.
  2. Resources and environmental economics.
  3. Industry and central banking system.
  4. Students may also take elective courses according to their interest.

Third Year (Fifth and Sixth Semester)

On their third year, students will deepen the quantitative methods in economics such as project evaluation, economic development analysis, and advance econometric. Besides that students will also be equipped with the materials on thesis completion.

Fourth Year (Seventh and Eight Semesters)

On the fourth year, students will focus on elective courses. In this period, students are also required to take internship program to prepare them to enter the working world, besides taking the community service program. The community service program aims to increase students’ social, soft skills, and help in solving real problems in the society. The final stage of students learning process is the final assignment in the form of thesis completion.

During their study students can also join various extracurricular activities to improve their soft skills, such as Achievement Motivation Training, Business Motivation Training, software training, and pre-job training.

Teaching and Learning



The Student Centered Learning (SCL) is selected as the main design of modern teaching. SCL model aims to balance student’s hard skill and soft skill.

The assessment is performed by considering several aspects, including assignments, presentation, paper or essay assignments (individual and group setting), and written test.  

To strengthen the noble values of the nation, students will be assessed from their ethics as well. Teachers as academic consultant will always direct their students to achieve highest academic performance.

On their early day of study, students will get syllabus about their courses material and assessment system. Students are graduated after they finish 144 credits, including thesis completion.


Teaching Method

Students will have a comprehensive learning experience on the theory class taught by teachers in their special expertise, in class tutorial, independent learning, in group learning, and internship. In the theory class, students are demanded to be active in developing their competence through, lecture, discussion, presentation, assignment and scientific paper completion. Besides that in several courses, students will join tutorial class in which they will focus on discussing with their teacher and other students, as well as performing assignment analysis from teacher.

To develop student interpersonal skill, in group assignment is a method that can force student to communicate with other people and solve problems in group. Lastly, internship program is aimed to introduce students to business work by placing students in real business setting. To support the learning process, both of our students and teachers can access e-learning. E-learning can be utilized to spread the courses materials, assignments, and written assessment.



Job Opportunity

The graduates from the undergraduate program of economics FEB UNS have worked in various agencies, both private and government agencies. The government agencies that employ our graduates, among others, are: local government, Badan Perencanaan dan Pembangunan Nasional (BAPPENAS), Lembaga Ilmu Pengetahuan Indonesia (LIPI), or the ministry of finance. The graduates from our program also have an opportunity to become a researcher in research centre or lembaga swadaya masyarakat (LSM).



To support the carrier development, Faculty of Economic and Business (FEB) had established The Internship and Career Development Center (ICD). ICD is in charge to conduct Diploma and Undergraduate student’s internship program, recruitment program, training and development program, database, and career development. To develop student’s skills and careers, ICD conduct a Pre Job Training for students. Students will be trained to create an application letter, CV, as well as work interview simulation. Furthermore, students will follow an Achievement Motivation Training (AMT) which aims to shape student’s characters and improve soft skills. Business Motivation Training (BMT) is also provided for the students. BMT aims to establish the students’ entrepreneurial spirit.

The Faculty of Economic and Business had built an alumni lounge. This lounge can be a meeting place between the alumni and the faculty members as well as for alumni and other alumni.

For each year, FEB UNS conducted an Alumni and Graduate Gathering (AGG). AGG is designed to provide additional support for our fresh graduate. Through AGG our fresh graduates can meet with other alumni who has already work at various institution and have been succeed in their career. During the gathering they can learn and exchange important information, thus creating huge community between the fresh graduates and the alumni. Another program that is conducted by out faculty is alumni gathering. This program aims to strengthen then relationship between alumni.
