FEB UNS Campus Seems Empty After the Implementation of Online Learning, Administrative Service is Adjusted

The atmosphere in the Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Sebelas Maret (FEB UNS) as well as the UNS environment look quiet after the UNS Rector issued a Circular regarding Early Precautions, Preparedness, and Anticipatory Measures to Prevent the Spread of Covid-19 Infection in UNS.

In the Circular, the Rector instructed all UNS lecturers to change face-to-face lectures into online lectures started on Monday, 16 March to Saturday, 28 March 2020.

Some of the Academic Support Staff

The classrooms that usually is full of teaching and learning activities temporarily are idle. The lecture room in FEB UNS Building 2, 4, and 5, seems empty and quiet, occasionally only the cleaning staff who could be seen cleaning the classroom as well as the academic support staff or FEB UNS staff. Several academic support staff can be seen carrying out their administrative activity in their room. Administrative services are still running with guard scheduling while others also implement a half-day shift.

The scheduling refers to the Circular No. 10/UN27/SE/2020 regarding Service Adjustment in order to prevent the spread of Covid-19. Within the Circular it is mentioned that the Head of Work Unit can appoint support staff who will carry-out Work From Home (WFH) selectively and fairly. The appointment should consider the type of assignment that can be done from home, the urgency or the job/work, domicile, transportation used by the staff, and their health condition.

As for the support staff who carry out their guard duty schedule is facilitate with fingerprint, while those who are appointed to do WFH should do a manual attendance and reporting their work progress directly to the Head of the unit. The coordination among the Head and staff can be conducted using online media such as zoom cloud meeting, cisco webex, WhatsApp, and many others. This aims to reduce the potential crowd gathering and face-to-face meetings that bring lots of people.

A few days ago, this online coordination is conducted between the Vice Dean of Academic Affairs FEB UNS, Dr. Izza Mafruhah, M.Si with the Head of Academic Sub-Section, Nur Hariawan, SH, which discuss all matters related with information and activities in Academics Section, especially related with the online lecture that currently implemented.
